Account Manager
Description
Deputy is hiring a remote U.S. -based account manager on a six-month contract to grow revenue within its SMB customer base. The role is commercially focused, with responsibility for strengthening customer relationships, identifying expansion opportunities, and supporting retention through consultative account management. This engagement sits at the intersection of customer partnership and sales growth. The successful candidate will manage a book of business, collaborate with customer success and internal stakeholders, and help turn usage insights into upsell opportunities.
Responsibilities
▪ Manage relationships across SMB accounts and deepen customer partnerships ▪ Lead conversations with key decision-makers around expansion and upsell opportunities ▪ Use account data with customer success partners to uncover adoption gaps and growth potential ▪ Maintain a clear understanding of each customer's business priorities and needs ▪ Build and manage a pipeline of expansion opportunities while coordinating with legal, sales, and marketing teams ▪ Raise risks early and share feedback that improves process and account strategy
Candidate Requirements
▪ 2+ years of B2B SaaS account management experience with revenue ownership and upselling ▪ Strong negotiation skills and confidence working with multiple stakeholders ▪ Consistent track record of results and high professional integrity ▪ Ability to understand client goals and shape solutions around them ▪ Strong written, verbal, phone, and presentation communication skills ▪ Familiarity with Salesforce or a similar CRM; workforce management or payroll knowledge is a plus
