Retail Media Strategist (Walmart Connect) - Freelance Contractor

Later is hiring a remote freelance strategist to help expand Walmart Connect as a repeatable paid media channel. The role blends hands-on campaign management with channel development, internal enablement, and performance reporting. This is an ongoing contract engagement structured around project-based work. The strategist will collaborate with the paid media team to run pilots, improve results, build playbooks, and support broader performance marketing efforts.
Responsibilities
▪ Define channel strategy, test plans, and budget approach for Walmart Connect campaigns ▪ Launch, manage, and optimize campaigns across sponsored products, sponsored brands, and DSP where applicable ▪ Monitor KPI performance and troubleshoot issues using platform and reporting data ▪ Build dashboards, documentation, and channel playbooks for repeatable execution ▪ Support internal training and collaborate with client services, creative, and analytics teams
Candidate Requirements
▪ 3+ years of paid media experience with direct hands-on work in retail media networks ▪ Strong practical experience with Walmart Connect preferred ▪ Understanding of ROAS, CPA, CTR, conversion rate, and attribution concepts ▪ Ability to turn data into clear recommendations and scalable processes ▪ Comfortable in fast-moving environments with high ownership
